Pennypacker Mills is more than a pretty place – it’s got brains too! The museum staff possess a wealth of knowledge about the site and the Pennypacker family, and the archives hold a treasure trove of documents, photographs, books, art and furnishings that are available to researchers by appointment.

The Friends has funded several acquisitions by the Site, most notably a collection of items that belonged to Governor Pennypacker’s second cousin, Galusha Pennypacker, one of the youngest people to hold the rank of Brigadier General in the US Army to this day. We also assisted with the acquisition of a pay muster for the 2nd New Jersey Regiment for September 1777.

To properly image delicate books and manuscripts for the archives, the Friends paid for an overhead scanner. Help us do more.
